Cut Panel Laundry

This process is carried out to improve the dimensional stability of the knitted fabric, such as fabric shrinkage and torque or twisting that may happen after the garment wash. All fabrics do not require to CPL process. We do fabric shrinkage tests and spirality tests in the in-house lab. Based on the lab test, they decide whether to do CPL or not.

Cut Panel Laundry Process

  • Find length-wise fabric shrinkage% using the standard shrinkage testing method.
  • Determine marker length using a CAD marker or Manual marker. For example, the final marker length for a particular style is 4 meters. After adding shrinkage of 5% resultant marker length will be 4.2 meters.
  • If we have fabrics in tubular form, open them into single width to get a better result after the CPL process.
  • Cut a couple of panels after adding shrinkage to them (i.e., 4.2 meters as per the above example) and wash fabric panels and tumble dry for testing. This sample test is important to determine the final panel length to eliminate the chance of mistakes and unnecessary fabric waste. Measure the length of the washed panel whether after the wash panel length is as per the required marker length.
  • Washed panels are right in length then we go for bulk cutting of panels with approved markers length.

Now our fabric is ready for production layering.
